Latest update from Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival :

ADVICE FROM POLICE SCOTLAND ON ARRIVING AT BELLA

Police Scotland is looking forward to supporting two major events in the Highlands next week as the Black Isle Show and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival return.

The Black Isle Show on Wednesday 2 August 2017 and Thursday 3 August 2017, along with Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival between Thursday 3 August 2017 and Sunday 6 August 2017 promise to be great family-friendly events and Police Scotland has been working closely with organisers and other partners to ensure those attending are safe.

Police Scotland is supporting the organisers advice to arrive early, particularly as the region’s roads are expected to be extremely busy on Thursday 3 August.

Car parks and campsites at Belladrum are open from 8am on Thursday morning.

Event Commander Chief Inspector Bob Mackay said: “We are pleased to be supporting these events as they return for another year.

“Our local officers will be in attendance at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and the Black Isle Show and I would encourage people to approach them with any concerns they may have or if you need assistance. Anyone who sees anything suspicious should report this to police.

Divisional Road Policing Inspector Gus Stewart added: “We have been working with the organisers to support them with their traffic management plans for these popular events. For those attending the events, we would encourage leaving plenty of time for your journey and follow the travel advice provided by organisers.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind drivers of the drink-drive rules and to be aware of how much you drink the night before you plan to leave, as you could still be over the drink-drive limit in the morning.

Rod MacKenzie from the Black Isle Show said: “Black Isle Farmers’ Society is grateful for the help and support we have received from Police Scotland and other agencies in the planning process which lead up to two major events which are of high profile and of huge economic importance to the Highlands.”

Joe Gibb from Belladrum said: “As in previous years, we have worked closely with Police Scotland and the Black Isle Show on a joint traffic plan. Our thanks go to both organisations for their help and co-operation and we ask our patrons to arrive early to beat the queues.

*** We are looking for the lady who was spotted at Bella 17 who was sketching the carousel and surroundings with a pencil and drawing pad. If anyone knows who this is please let us know, as there are a few Bella goers who would love to see the final drawing. Thank you. *** ... See MoreSee Less

Is there a map of which road people are advised to be using to get to the events in order to help with traffic flow. Thanks πŸ™‚

The last time I went to Bella I stopped at the toilet north side of the Kessock Bridge at 6.30pm. Traffic, traffic… and I got parked in the estate it was 9.30pm. I’d gone to Bella particularly wanting to see Proclaimers and Scooty and the Skyhooks, both on that night. Didn’t see either – not happy bunny. Still had a good weekend 🀘
